Role management
A role in the sense of 3D security management defines which objects of the 3D client can be accessed. A role could be the inspector who would require the access to create an inspection and to create observations. Most probably this inspector would however not be allowed to delete inspections or observations. This role would be defined by selecting the respective rights. Another user could be the database administrator who has the right to enter new ships, new companies etc.
Most probably the access rights will require different levels for different ships, for different report types etc. A marine superintendent could require the right to enter and edit reports for a group of ships, but should only be allowed the read reports of other ships.
For this reason the role has to be combined with database objects like ships, report types etc, so called Groups.
Create and change roles
To create a role click the button and enter a meaningful name for the new role and more detailed description. Save by clicking the creat role button. Attention there is no possibility to edit neither the name nor the description of the role. This can be done only by the ChemServe system administrator.
Therafter select the required rights and save.
To change roles select the respective role, change the Rights and save.
