XML Import

the preferred format for data import and export

XML stands for Extentible Markup Language. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the sharing of structured data across different information systems, particularly via the Internet.
CDI and SIRE inspection reports are available for download in the so called XML format.
Also the InfoPath forms work with XML files.

Import of XML documents into 3D

Inspection reports, like HSE Events (incidents, accidents, non conformities), Superintendent Visit Reports, Internal Audits etc. can be entered into a MS InfoPath document, transfered to the office and imported from there into 3D. This will avoid duplication of reporting.
To import XML documents which have been created or modified with InfoPath.xsn forms provided by Chemserve, select File>Import>XML Import

Define the folder and the filename of the XML document that shall be imported.

Click on Open and the 3D XML Import Window will open and display the data of the selected file.

Control the data and if correct click on Import to confirm.
Files that have been exported previously from 3D and that have been updated will overwrite the existing inspection record.
New inspection records which have been entered first time into the InfoPath.xsn provided by ChemServe will be inserted as new inspections.
